The first meeting of the Joint Russian-Indonesian Feasibility Study Group on proposal to conclude a Free Trade Agreement between Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Indonesia was held online on September 28. 

The EAEU delegation was headed by the Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Trade Policy Department Mr. I.V. Nazaruk. From the Indonesian side the meeting was co-chaired by the Director of the Bilateral Negotiations Directorate General of the Trade Negotiations of the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia, Mrs. Ayu Made.

Earlier, on October 17, 2019, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. 

On September 11, 2020, the EEC Council formed a Joint Feasibility Study Group with Indonesia.
