The Russian relationship with the ASEAN countries has great potential for development in the energy sector. ASEAN is going through the significant growth in energy consumption, with its potential to double energy in 2035.

At the same time, natural gas will play a significant role in the future energy balance of the ASEAN countries. Following the decision of the 2019 ASEAN energy ministerial meeting,a great attention is paid to increasing the use of natural gas in the countries of the region, given its environmental friendliness and economic advantages. 

Raising the awareness of ASEAN about the possibilities of using natural gas in various sectors of the economy, advanced technologies, including technologies for low-tonnage production, as well as the possibilities and rules for regulating the new market will solve the problems facing the economies of the countries of the region.

The Workshop is organised by the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Russia-ASEAN Business Council, with the support of ASEAN Secretariat.
